Be Strong and Courageous — This Was Never About Us

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”Deuteronomy 31:6
Those words were never meant to be a motivational poster. They are a declaration of reality.
Strength and courage do not come from our ability to control outcomes. They come from the fact that God goes before us. He is already in tomorrow. He is already in the conversation you’re dreading, the season you don’t understand, the loss you didn’t choose, the calling you’re resisting.
And here’s the truth that humbles us all:
None of this is about us.
Not our careers.
Not our marriages.
Not how successful our children are.
Not the size of our homes or the size of our churches.
Not our accomplishments, our accolades, or our reputation.
We spend so much of our lives trying to build a story where we are the main character — and yet Scripture is clear from the beginning:
From the moment God breathed life into Adam, all of creation has been moving toward one thing — the glory of God revealed in Jesus Christ.
The cross was not a reaction.
The resurrection was not a surprise.
Redemption was always the plan.
Every breath we take, every relationship we hold, every moment we are given on this spinning globe is a gift meant to point back to Him.
The world tells us to be afraid.
Jesus tells us to be courageous.
The world tells us to secure ourselves.
Jesus tells us to surrender.
The world tells us to build kingdoms.
Jesus tells us we are aliens here — strangers, pilgrims, just passing through.
“For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.” (Hebrews 13:14)
We were never meant to find our rest here.
We were never meant to be satisfied here.
We were never meant to belong here.
We are here for a moment, and then with Him forever.
So be strong.
Be courageous.
Do not be afraid.
Not because life is safe — but because Jesus is sovereign.
Not because you have control — but because He goes before you.
Not because you are enough — but because Jesus is enough.
Live like it.
Speak like it.
Build like it.
Love like it.
And make sure, with every breath you’re given, that all know.
